The Veterans Calendar
The VFW and American Legion calendar nobody else was publishing. Memorial Day and Veterans Day observances, color-guard rosters, post meetings, and fundraisers — for the largest under-covered community in this ZIP code.
Magnolia's veterans show up for everyone else. They post the colors at the ballgame, fold the flag at the funeral, and run the fundraiser that keeps a widow's lights on. The least a hometown paper can do is keep their calendar — and keep it free.
So this is the standing page for it. If your post has a meeting, a fish fry, a color-guard detail, a Memorial Day or Veterans Day observance, a roster opening, or a fundraiser, send it over and it runs here at no charge. VFW, American Legion, auxiliaries, and every veterans organization serving Greater Magnolia are welcome.

Veterans of Foreign Wars
VFW Post 12213 — Magnolia
Magnolia's VFW post was chartered October 1, 2022, putting a VFW back in town after the old one had been gone for two or three decades. It started with 41 charter members — the youngest 26, the oldest a Korean War veteran — and later settled into its own home on FM 1488. Membership is open to those who served honorably on foreign soil or in hostile waters.

The observances this calendar carries every year
Memorial Day in late May and Veterans Day on November 11 anchor the veterans calendar. Color-guard details, ceremony times, post fundraisers, and auxiliary events fill in around them as posts send them over.
