Short

The Magnolia Standard is an independent, bilingual local newspaper covering Greater Magnolia, Texas. It publishes Tuesdays and Fridays in English and Spanish.

Long

The Magnolia Standard is an independent local newspaper for Magnolia, Montgomery, Dobbin and the unincorporated stretches of Montgomery County between them. It publishes twice a week, Tuesdays and Fridays, in English and Spanish on the same day. Most of what it runs is the good news of a growing town: businesses opening, teams winning, roads finally getting fixed. The rest is the plain-language accountability work a town needs, reading the agreements and the rate votes and reporting what is actually in them.

The Magnolia Standard es un periódico local independiente y bilingüe que cubre el Gran Magnolia, Texas. Se publica los martes y los viernes, en inglés y en español el mismo día.

Three things worth knowing

Both languages, or it doesn't ship. Every article exists in English and Spanish on the day it publishes. Nothing is translated late and nothing runs in one language only.

Celebrate first. Roughly four in five stories are positive by design. The accountability lane is real, but it is the smaller share on purpose.

The byline policy is published. Most reporting runs under the paper's institutional byline, and some accountability work carries stable pen names. The reasons are set out in full on the ethics page, along with who is accountable for what we publish.
