The Magnolia 100 So Far, and How to Send Us the Next One

By The Magnolia Standard · June 19, 2026

A profile a week, the people behind the counter, and one rule that never moves: it's free to be in it.

We've been working through the locally owned businesses of 77354 a profile at a time, and the file is getting good. The series is called the Magnolia 100, and the idea is simple. We sit down with the people behind the counter, ask what they actually do all day and what changed about the town since they opened, and we write it straight.

If you've missed them, a few. The owners of Cactus Flower Boutique and Six Shooter Junction on the changing FM 1488 corridor. The comfort-food kitchen with the rentable treehouse out back, Treehouse Cafe. The maker shop Texas Iron Republic. A bagel counter built the New York way at Classic NY Bagels, and the pizza of Wandercrust in Old Town. Different trades, same thread: somebody who bet on Magnolia and stayed.

The one rule worth repeating, because it's the whole point. It's free to be profiled. No business pays for a spot, ever, and the order is ours to decide as editors. When a shop is ready to advertise, that runs under a clearly marked sponsored banner and never wears the costume of a story. You should never have to wonder whether a profile was bought, because it wasn't.

Now we want yours. Maybe it's the place you've gone for 15 years, or the new one two doors down that deserves a look. Send a name and a sentence about why they belong. We'll take it from there.
