Biscuits on FM 1488 Before the Year Is Out. Breadsticks on 249 on October 26. A Texas Roadhouse Has Filed for Eva Street.
By The Magnolia Standard · September 29, 2026
Three restaurants, and three very different levels of certain.
Breakfast is coming to FM 1488. The Flying Biscuit Cafe, a Southern breakfast and lunch chain that started in Atlanta, has a Magnolia location at 5667 FM 1488, Suite D. The company's own locations page lists it as opening in the fourth quarter of 2026, with hours to be announced. Community Impact reported on September 15, from the company's social media, that the target is November.
The menu leans on the name. Biscuits and gravy, breakfast burritos, pancake tacos, steak and eggs, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, plus burgers for lunch. It also caters.
Hours will be set closer to opening. For a sense of the chain's habits, its Richmond location near the Grand Parkway lists 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends. That is a breakfast-and-lunch place, not a dinner stop. The same page lists Texas locations in Dallas and Houston's Memorial City, and one in Abilene set for early 2027.
October 26, on 249
Olive Garden has a date. The chain opens October 26 at 27651 Highway 249 in Tomball, inside the Grand at 249. That development is about 450,000 square feet of mixed use and is set to be finished in 2027, so the restaurant will open with work still going on around it. Olive Garden is one of several restaurants that have leased space there.
Eva Street, eventually
In Montgomery, a Texas Roadhouse has filed to build at 20360 Eva Street. The filing, made July 21 with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, describes a 7,926-square-foot building costing $1.5 million to construct. It lists construction from May to October 2027. No opening date has been announced.
Down the same road, a July 23 filing shows Wells Fargo planning a branch inside the Montgomery H-E-B at 20025 Eva Street, with an opening listed for late 2027.
How to read a filing
A state filing is where a lot of restaurant news starts, and it is worth knowing what one is. Texas requires most commercial building projects above $50,000 to register with the Department of Licensing and Regulation for an accessibility review before construction. The registration lists an address, a size, a cost and planned construction dates.
What it does not do is promise anything. Dates in a filing are the owner's plan at the time, and plans move. The address and the square footage tend to hold. The months are the part to watch.
So, in order of certainty: Olive Garden has a day, the Flying Biscuit has a season, and the Texas Roadhouse has paperwork. We will report the Magnolia opening date when the company sets one.
