She Bought an 800-Square-Foot Nail Salon in Tomball in 2007. Her State Filing for Magnolia Lists 12,366.

Nineteen years, three buildings and a fifteenfold jump in floor space, if the plans hold.
Aloha Beauty Lounge has filed plans with the State of Texas for a new building at 835 Honea Egypt Road in Magnolia. The filing, made September 24 with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, describes a 12,366-square-foot beauty lounge.
The estimated construction cost is $2.5 million. Work is listed to start December 1 and finish December 1, 2027. Those dates come from an early filing, the registration Texas requires so commercial projects get an accessibility review, and dates in those filings often move.
Where it started
Tracey Phan came to the United States in 2002 and settled in southwest Houston, working while she went to cosmetology school and learned English. That account comes from a profile by the Tomball Economic Development Corporation. In 2007 she bought a Tomball shop called Aloha Nails. It was about 800 square feet, and she ran it alone.
She grew it into a beauty lounge of roughly 2,400 square feet with 12 employees, according to the same profile. After more than 15 years on Main Street, the business moved in 2021 to its current home at 107 N. Sycamore St. in downtown Tomball. The salon describes itself as family owned and operated.
"I want to do everything I can to make customers feel beautiful and confident," Phan told the Tomball EDC.
What it does now
The nail work is still there: manicures, spa pedicures, gel and artificial nails. The menu has since added eyelash extensions and lifts, brows, waxing, facials, and permanent makeup including microblading and lip blushing. The salon also runs professional lash training classes.
Nothing published so far says what the extra space in Magnolia will hold, and the salon has not announced it. Community Impact, which first reported the filing, noted the new building would be more than double the size of the Tomball location. The Tomball EDC's figure puts it at about five times.
If the schedule holds, it is about 14 months before anyone sits in a chair on Honea Egypt Road. We will be watching the permits.
